This policy explains how UPPENDI CORPORATION, doing business as Spain at Home (“we,” “us”), uses cookies and similar technologies on spainathome.com (the “Site”). It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your browser or device. Similar technologies include pixels (tiny images or code snippets that report that a page was viewed), local storage, and software code from partners. Some are “first-party” (set by us) and some are “third-party” (set by companies such as Google or Meta).
2. Your choices
In the United States, analytics and advertising cookies are on by default. When you first visit the Site, a notice tells you this and lets you accept or change your choices. You can turn these cookies off at any time with “Cookie settings” or “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” in the footer of any page. Strictly necessary cookies always stay on, because the Site cannot work without them.
We use Google Consent Mode v2. Our Google tags (Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads) read your choice and adjust: if you turn off analytics or advertising cookies, those tags stop setting or reading them, and may send limited, cookie-less signals that Google uses for aggregate and modeled measurement, not to identify you. Turning off advertising cookies also stops the Meta Pixel and Microsoft Clarity in your browser.
You can also control cookies in your browser settings (you may delete or block them, though some parts of the Site, such as the cart and checkout, may stop working), and you can use opt-out tools: – Google: https://adssettings.google.com and https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout – Meta: https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences – Microsoft: https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement – Industry opt-outs: https://optout.aboutads.info and https://optout.networkadvertising.org – Global Privacy Control (GPC) and “Do Not Track”: if your browser or extension sends one of these signals, our consent tool treats it as a request to opt out, and the Site turns off analytics and advertising cookies for you.
3. Cookies we use
| Category | What it does | Examples (typical names) | Typical lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary (always on) | Keeps the Site working: your cart, checkout, login, security, and remembering your cookie choice | WooCommerce and WordPress cookies such as woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart, wp_woocommerce_session_*; our consent cookie; payment fraud-prevention cookies from our payment processor | Session to about 2 days (your cookie choice: 1 year) |
| Analytics (on by default; you can turn it off) | Tells us how visitors use the Site so we can improve it | Google Analytics 4: _ga, _ga_<ID> | Up to 2 years |
| Advertising and measurement (on by default; you can turn it off) | Measures how our ads perform and shows our ads to people who visited the Site | Google Ads: _gcl_au, and Google ad cookies. Meta Pixel: _fbp | Up to 90 days (some Google ad cookies up to 13 months) |
| Session replay and heatmaps (on by default; you can turn it off with advertising cookies) | Records how visitors scroll, tap and click, so we can see where the Site is hard to use. Text typed into form fields is masked and not recorded | Microsoft Clarity: _clck, _clsk, CLID, ANONCHK, MR, MUID, SM | From the session to 1 year (MUID up to 13 months) |
| Email and marketing | When you subscribe, Mailchimp records sign-up and may track whether you open or click our emails (using a tracking pixel and link tracking) | Mailchimp cookies on sign-up forms (if used); email tracking pixels | Varies |
This list is typical and can change when our partners update their tools.
4. Server-side data sharing
In addition to cookies, we send certain events (for example, “purchase completed”) from our server to Meta through the Conversions API. This may include information such as order value and contact details like email in encrypted (hashed) form, so Meta can match the event to ads. Turning off advertising cookies stops the Meta Pixel in your browser, but our server may still report completed purchases this way. See our Privacy Policy for more, including how to ask us to delete your information.
5. California and other U.S. state residents
Sharing data with advertising partners through cookies and pixels can count as “sharing” or a “sale” under some state privacy laws. You can opt out with the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer, the cookie settings above, or the GPC signal. See also our Privacy Policy, including our statement on “Do Not Track” signals.
6. Changes
We may update this policy when our tools or the law change. The “Last updated” date shows the latest version.
