Serrano ham online: how to choose
Jamón serrano is Spain's everyday dry-cured ham, made from white-breed pigs and aged until firm, savory and lightly sweet. The Serrano ham we sell online is Cortijo de Canata reserva, cured 15 months in dry-curing cellars, and it makes a good first whole leg. For how it differs from Ibérico, read Ibérico vs Serrano vs Bellota. Prices below are as of October 2026.
Choosing a format
| Format | Weight | Price | Approx. per lb |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bone-in leg | 13-14 lb | $219 | $16-$17 |
| Bone-in leg | 15-17 lb | $279 | $16-$19 |
| Boneless block | 4-5 lb | $139 | $28-$35 |
The bone-in leg has the lowest price per pound, and you keep the bone for stock; see what to do with a jamón bone. It needs a ham stand and a long knife. The boneless block is the easier route at home: it fits a standard cutting board, with no carving setup. For a stand and knife in one box, there is the Serrano Ham Starter Kit at $299.
Orders of $250 or more ship free. Below that, a flat rate applies ($29.95 for a whole Serrano ham), shown at checkout. See how to carve Spanish ham and how to store Spanish ham, or browse every Spanish ham.
FAQ
What is the difference between Serrano and Ibérico?
Serrano comes from white-breed pigs. Ibérico comes from Iberian-breed pigs and is graded by diet and breed percentage.
Does Serrano need refrigeration?
A whole cured leg needs none until cut. After cutting, cover the surface and follow our storage guide.
Which size should I pick?
The 13-14 lb leg suits a smaller gathering; the 15-17 lb is better if you will carve over several weeks.
Do you ship outside the lower 48?
No. Shipping covers the contiguous 48 states.
